The Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) process involves freezing embryos from a fresh in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle or donor egg cycle. After cryopreserving the embryos, they are thawed and transferred back into the recipient’s uterus. FETs are clinically proven to increase implantation rates and support positive obstetrical outcomes. FETs are also generally considered the “healthier” implantation option due to stronger connections between the placenta and mother.

Timing is Everything
FETs allow for a more natural embryo transfer experience. By freezing embryos until the patient’s hormone levels return to normal, recipients will have a greater chance of a successful pregnancy. During fresh transfers, the recipient’s hormones are still in flux due to the retrieval procedure.
